  PROGRAMS AND PROJECTS
BRIGHT MINDS READ PROGRAM (BMR-P)

          A partnership program with the Department of Education, that aims to develop beginning reading materials and strategies for public school teachers and children. This was launched last 2002, BMR was pilot-tested in 14 public schools in 14 municipalities in NCR, covering five (5) classes per school with a total of 4,200 pupils. Now it’s already been used nationwide. Sources of funding: Ronald McDonald House Charities

PHILIPPINE MATHEMATICAL OLYMPIAD

          It is the oldest and most prestigious nationwide mathematics competition among secondary school students. Since 2007, its design has been reformatted to select the best students in mathematical problem-solving in the Philippines. Starting last year, this has been done through three levels of competition beginning from the elimination stage, followed by the area stage (Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao and NCR) and culminating with the national stage.

PHILIPPINE SCIENCE FAIR

          The conduct of the Philippine Science Fair (PSF), formerly known as the Search for the Outstanding Youth Science Researchers (TOYS), wakens the interest in science investigatory among students and teachers across all levels.

Welcome to the Department of Education, Region VII web site. I am honored to serve as Director III to this large and highly diverse Region. Likewise, I am pleased to share our activities and ongoing projects with the parents, students, stakeholders and the community. My co-workers and I are delighted to share our accomplishments in our schools and the achievements of our learners. We trust that a visit to our website will give our clientele some idea on the strong commitment of all our staff to the implementation of educational programs initiated, both at the local and national levels.
