BRIGHT MINDS READ PROGRAM (BMR-P)
A partnership program with the Department of Education, that aims to develop beginning reading materials and strategies for public school teachers and children. This was launched last 2002, BMR was pilot-tested in 14 public schools in 14 municipalities in NCR, covering five (5) classes per school with a total of 4,200 pupils. It is the oldest and most prestigious nationwide mathematics competition among secondary school students. Since 2007, its design has been reformatted to select the best students in mathematical problem-solving in the Philippines. Starting last year, this has been done through three levels of competition beginning from the elimination stage, followed by the area stage (Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao and NCR) and culminating with the national stage. The conduct of the Philippine Science Fair (PSF), formerly known as the Search for the Outstanding Youth Science Researchers (TOYS), wakens the interest in science investigatory among students and teachers across all levels.
